Privileges app
The Privileges app gives you time-based administrator rights to perform actions on your MyMac such as downloading software or to make changes, when necessary.
Once privileges are requested, you are given a 15-minute window of administrative rights.
Request privileges
1. Locate the Privileges app on the Dock or within the Launchpad and open it. By default, the icon will display a locked padlock.
2. To request extra rights, select the Request privileges button.
3. You will be asked to provide a reason why you need this access - the reason is logged for auditing purposes and must be completed. Enter the reason and select Continue.
4. To complete this request, you will be prompted to enter your password or scan your fingerprint (if you have biometrics set up). Select OK.
The icon will now display an unlocked padlock which means you now have administrative rights.
