Binding: | 17th-century quarter pigskin with faint traces of a manuscript title in top compartment of spine, thin wooden boards covered with parchment leaves from a manuscript service book; front pastedown, front free endpaper and rear pastedown have the Jesuit watermark “IHS” surmounted by a cross and with the three nails below, all within a radiant sun - below which are the initials “R” and “M”; sprinkled blue-edged leaves; signs of a bookplate removed from front pastedown; small rectangular label at head of spine with faint traces of handwriting (a shelfmark?). Size: 470 x 323 mm. |
