On both covers double fillets form a frame, within which are two rolls, the first is a floral roll (Nixon, ‘Harleian bindings’, pl. 13) and the second is an ornamental roll (Nixon ‘Harleian bindings’, pl. 14, Chapman roll 5). The head and foot of the spine are decorated with a floral roll (Nixon, ‘Harleian bindings’, pl. 13), and the spine compartments are decorated with Nixon, ‘Harleian bindings’, pl. 15, Chapman no. 7, and with three other tools unrecorded by Nixon; the turn-ins are decorated with Nixon, ‘Harleian bindings’ pl. 14, Chapman roll 2; marbled endpapers.
