Provenance: John Veitch (1829-1894), Professor of Logic and Rhetoric, University of Glasgow:  source unknown;  number “78” written in blue pencil on front pastedown (a numbering common to many books in the Veitch collection, probably an inventory number).

Binding: Scotland, 19th-century parchment-covered boards, red leather title label on spine;  almost certainly bound by Maclehose, Glasgow, in line with several other Veitch incunables with identical bindings.   Size:  314 x 210 mm.
Leaf size: 309 x 201 mm.
Annotations: Marginal annotations in two 16th-century hands in quires a and b;  manuscript corrections in quires d, e, g and n.
Decoration: Nine-line initial “O” on a2r supplied in grey, purple, and yellow, the body of the initial in-filled with a six-petalled flower-head in blue and white and with a vertical bar containing floral and foliate decoration extending into the inner and lower margins;  other initials supplied in red.
Imperfections: Wanting the first and final blank leaves.
