Binding: 18th-century brown calf;  yellow-edged leaves;  repaired and rebacked with brown goatskin by Douglas Cockerell & Son, Feb. 1962;  new plain endpapers;  sample of original gold-tooled spine mounted on inside of rear board;  original red leather title label put back on new spine;  binder’s note tipped onto rear pastedown.   Size:  292 x 200 mm.
Leaf size: 285 x 190 mm.
Annotations: Frequent 15th/16th-century marginal annotations in brown ink in quire 1, mainly extracting keywords;  similar annotations in the same hand on 8/5r - 8/6r (ff. 65r - 66r);  early marginal annotations in a different hand, in red ink, on 10/2 (f. 78);  a few scribblings in Italian in an early hand on 14/6v (f. 112v);  manuscript foliation “1”-“111” in an 18th-century hand.
Decoration: Four lines of incipit on 1/2r washed in faded yellow;  capitals and some words washed in yellow on 5/4v - 5/6r (ff. 40v - 42r) and on 6/1r (f. 45r).
Imperfections: Wanting the first blank leaf.
