William Euing (1788-1874), insurance broker, Glasgow:  purchased from Arthur 28 Sept. 1866 according to Euing’s pencil acquisition note with price on front pastedown “28 9 66 Arthur £1-11-6”;  Euing’s pencil inventory number on a1r “No 3094”;  source confirmed in Euing’s acquisitions inventory (University of Glasgow Library, MS Euing 49).

Binding: 19th-century, varnished(?) paper-covered boards with watermark discernible of the sun with a human face (below which are the letters “A” and “C”?), brown calf spine.   Size:  198 x 149 mm.
Leaf size: 196 x 142 mm.
Annotations: Frequent marginal annotations in two 16th-century hands in quires a-c, together with frequent manicules and nota marks;  brief annotations added to woodcut of Sphaeri mundi (a1v).
Decoration: Some woodcuts coloured by hand in green and/or yellow, and in pale red and yellow.
Imperfections: None.
