| Bound with: | When Hunter bought it at the Letherland sale, this copy was bound up with a 15th/16th-century manuscript, written in the Netherlands, containing the texts of Isaac Judaeus, De febribus, and Johann Widman, De lue venerea - now MS Hunter 88 - see J. Young & P.H. Aitken A catalogue of the manuscripts in the Library of the Hunterian Museum in the University of Glasgow (Glasgow: 1908). The volume was disbound at some point in the 19th century and the Crescentiis and the manuscript texts separately bound and given different shelfmarks. Noted by N.R. Ker, William Hunter as a collector of medieval manuscripts [Glasgow: 1983], p. 13 - though Ker was unable to trace the Crescentiis, perhaps because of the misleading imprint date given in the Letherland catalogue. |
