Provenance: | Magister Dominus Bartholomeus (16th century): inscription on k1v “m[agister] d[ominus] Barth[olom]eus(?) [...] possidet” (together with an unread annotation of two words). Sir William Stirling Maxwell, 9th baronet, (1818-1878), art historian and collector: engraved armorial bookplate in black with engraved signature “William Stirling Maxwell” and mottoes “Gang forward” and “I am ready” on front pastedown; his engraved booklabel “Emblems Keir” in red on rear pastedown; Stirling Maxwell’s shelfmark in pencil “23B” on rear pastedown, other Stirling Maxwell shelfmarks “K.1” and “39.1” in pencil on front pastedown; Stirling Maxwell’s source unknown.
