Variants:	Colophon on [rum]7v follows BMC’s second and third copies (IB. 27125, IB. 27125a): ‘LAVS DEO HONOR ET GLORIA. || LEONIS BAPTISTAE || ALBERTI FLOREN||TINI VIRI CLA||riſſimi de re || Aedificatoria opus elegātiſſi||mū et qnāmaxime utile: Flo||rentiæ accuratiſſime impreſ||ſum opera Magiſtri Nicolai || Laurentii Alamani: Anno ſa||lutis Milleſimo octuageſimo || quinto: quarto Kalendas Ianuarias.’;  [rum]8r, line 1: ‘... p[er]ſona ...’ as in BMC’s second and third copies;  [rum]8r, final line: ‘EINIS’ as in BMC’s second and third copies.  In quire [rum] the fourth leaf is correctly signed ‘[rum]iiii’ as opposed to the Bodleian and Mitchell Library (Glasgow) copies where the number has been added by hand.
Provenance:	Paris, Jesuits:  “Coll. Paris Societ. Jesu” on a1r;  lot 2231 in "Catalogue des livres de la bibliothèque des ci-devant soi-disans Jésuites de Collège de Clermont" (Paris: 1764);  sold for 25 livres 1 sou according to the priced copy of the sale catalogue in University of Glasgow Library. Peter Molini, bookseller, London:  sold book to William Hunter. William Hunter (1718-1783), physician and anatomist:  purchased from Molini 21 May 1772 for £3.10.0;  see Molini’s bill to Hunter (University of Glasgow, Hunter Papers H219);  price also written in pencil on rear free endpaper “3.10--”. University of Glasgow:  Hunterian bequest 1807;  Hunterian Museum bookplate and book label on front pastedown, with former shelfmark “Ab.9.7”.
Binding:	France, 18th-century red goatskin decorated with triple gold fillets, a small gold fleuron at each corner;  gold-tooled spine;  marbled endpapers;  gilt-edged leaves;  turquoise silk bookmark.   Size:  278 x 208 mm.

Annotations:	Occasional marginal annotations in a 16th-century hand (more extensive in quire n);  occasional manicules and “nota” marks;  18th-century sale or inventory number “28” in red crayon on front free endpaper;  the same hand has also numbered in red crayon By.1.2 ("148"), and two Hunterian manuscripts:  MS Hunter 391, Bartholomaeus Anglicus, De proprietatibus rerum ("153") and MS Hunter 445, Ovid, Metamorphoseon libri XV ("163"); see N.R. Variant:	Setting of the colophon on [rum]7v follows that of BMC VI 630 (IB. 27125b), not (IB. 27125a).  Signature [rum]4 has the number added by hand as in the Bodleian copy, unlike the GUL copy where the signature is correctly printed.
Provenance:	Reverendus Pater Godart (fl. 1638):  inscription “Ex dono R.P. Godart Prioris mon[aste]rij PP Coelestinor[um] Parisiis Die 24 Aprilis 1638” on a1r. Paris, Celestines, S Maria (suppressed 1779):  see above. André Du Saussay (1589-1675), Bishop of Toul (1655-1675):  inscription “pertinet ad me Du Saussay Ægid[ii] Past[orem]” on a1r, followed by “Ex Biblioth[eca] Ill[ustrissi]mi et R[everendiss]imi D.D. Andreae Du Saussay Episcopi et comitiorum tullentiorum 1656”. Jacques Joye (17th century):  inscription “Jacobi Joye” on a1v. Sebastien Mordan, (17th century):  inscription “Sebastianus Mordan pastor in poully [Pouilly?]” on a2r. William Euing (1788-1874), insurance broker, Glasgow:  source unknown.
