University of Glasgow:  Hunterian bequest 1807;  Hunterian Museum bookplate and booklabel on front pastedown, with former shelfmark “Aa.6.2”.
Binding: 18th-century mottled calf decorated with a gold fillet, a small gold fleuron at each corner;  gold-tooled spine;  title label now missing (date on spine “1479” [sic]);  marbled endpapers;  sprinkled blue-edged leaves;  green silk bookmark.   Size:  282 x 195 mm.
Leaf size: 275 x 188 mm.
Annotations: Frequent early marginal annotations in gatherings 2 and 3 but so heavily washed out as to be largely illegible;  occasional interlinear corrections to text;  occasional underlining and “nota” marks;  rectos numbered in an early hand in ink (some numbers cropped) “110”-“117”, “119”-“122”, “124”-“172” - indicating that this text had once been bound with another or other texts.
Decoration: Four-line initial “P” on 2/2r (f. 8r) supplied in blue (heavily washed out) with red pen-work decoration extending into margin;  five-line initial “N” on 10/1r (f. 75r) similarly decorated;  other initials and paragraph marks supplied throughout in red or in washed-out blue.
Imperfections: Wanting quire 1 (ff. 1-6);  2/1 (f. 7);  3/2 (f. 16);  3/7 (f. 21);  quires 8 and 9 (ff. 55-74), which contain [Pseudo-] Ovidius, Consolatio ad Liviam and Proba Falconia, Cento Vergilianus;  quires 12 and 13 (ff. 91-106), which contain Gregorius Tiphernas, Carmina.
