Future Leaders Programme
The Future Leaders Programme (FLP) provides individuals with the opportunity to further develop their leadership capability and achieve their career ambitions as well as the strategic aims of the University of Glasgow as a world class, world changing university. It aims to increase capability, confidence, and connectedness for leaders and their teams.
As well as contributing to building a cohort of capable leaders it provides participants with an opportunity to network with colleagues from across the institution and engage with senior leaders who contribute to the programme.
The FLP is aimed at those in, or soon to be in, roles with significant decision making, responsibility, reach and/ or organisational impact. Nominees should demonstrate a willingness to enhance their leadership capability, increase their self-awareness, and a desire to further their leadership learning.
The programme is structured around four full-day sessions, action learning, and one-to-one coaching sessions informed by a 360 diagnostic. The programme takes a co-creation approach and participants will have the opportunity to customise content to suit their needs within the parameters of the programme.
The programme will focus on the role of a leader in a world class, world changing university:
- leading collaboratively and empowering others to act
- enacting the UofG values and strategy
- leading change, including organisational culture change, with agility and flexibility
- demonstrating authentic leadership in challenging situations
Recruitment for this programme will normally commence during the summer months and the programme will typically run between September to May each year. Colleagues who are interested in participating in this Programme should have an initial discussion with their line manager and indicate their interest in coordination with their local People and OD (Human Resources) teams.
