TAS - Method of Collection
TAS - Method of Collection
The process involves acquiring time allocation data by statistical sampling. The TAS form has been designed to be as simple as possible. The exercise should typically involve each staff member less than 5 minutes, once a quarter.
The key features are:
- All general funds staff in colleges are required to complete a TAS. (Special arrangements are made for groups of staff identified by colleges for which this process is not appropriate.)
- Each individual will report on a single week once a quarter.
- The allocated week will be randomly selected and advised to each individual by email well in advance, and again at the beginning of the week allocated.
- Reminders will be sent by email if the TAS form is not completed (by Thursday of the following week)
- Reporting will be exclusively by web form (login via the Business Systems front door on MyGlasgow).
- Heads of School (or nominee) will receive listings of those who have not completed a return. This will be an opportunity to advise the TAS administrator of any special circumstances, for example sickness.
- There is a single point of contact for all queries and problems (tas@gla.ac.uk).
- National rules require that the TAS is completed within 2 months of the census week. The form will become unavailable after that.
