Student Monitoring
Student equalities information is collected at the point of application and at registration. This is a statutory requirement and the University must provide annual returns to funding councils and the Higher Education Statistical Agency (HESA).
All information submitted to external agencies is anonymous and no individual can be recognised.
The equalities information held on each student can be checked and amended by the student through MyCampus. All information is held in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.
The University currently collects data on:

Legal Sex
- Ethnicity
- Disability
- Age on Entry
In accordance with recent changes required by HESA, from the start of the academic year 2013-14 the University also started to collect data on the following:
- Gender identity
- Sexual Orientation
- Religion or Belief
The University's Planning and Business Intelligence has information on the HESA Student Headcount Profiles which includes breakdowns by Gender, Disability, and Ethnicity for the Undergraduate and Postgraduate student populations. You'll also find information on Undergraduate Degree Classification.
