I initially took the support of the careers service which gave me a great amount of guidance on how to produce a great CV and cover letter which had a massive impact on me getting a job. I became employed through directly contacting companies with my CV looking for graduate opportunities and advice, and people were very helpful. Ultimately by doing this I had put myself out there, and I was contacted by Mason Evans, a geo-environment consultancy after they received my CV from another company I approached who weren’t taking anyone on. This approach was successful, and I’d advise anyone to do the same, as although many of the companies I contacted had no opportunities at the time, they gave me great advice and passed my CV on to other companies looking for graduates.
