Garscube Campus: Replacement Veterinary Facilities
The University is planning to invest over £20 million in new facilities for our world-renowned School of Biodiversity, One Health and Veterinary Medicine over the next three years. This project will support the School’s growth, strengthen links with key industry bodies and maintain its current UK-leading position, attracting the best national and international students and colleagues.
The project aims to redevelop the site of the existing Equine Riding Arena and Isolation Unit. Key proposals include:
- A new Isolation Unit for horses and other large farm animals
- A new Equine Riding Arena
- A new Equine Service Yard
- Demolition of the existing Riding Arena & Isolation Unit
- A new Veterinary Pathology facility
These improvements will modernise and update the existing facilities, reduce carbon emissions through improved fabric and services designs, and better segregate the existing traffic flows within the site. We believe this will enhance the campus without increasing the number of building users or vehicular traffic.
