John Stirling Papers
A collection of letters, mainly to John Stirling (1654-1727), Church of Scotland Minister and Principal of the University of Glasgow from 1701-1727.
The letters, written by various correspondents between the years 1684 and 1727, deal largely with University matters and other Scottish affairs; however, volume 4 includes letters from presbyterian ministers in England, Ireland and the Netherlands.
The collection, housed in four bound volumes, was presented to the Library in December 1795 by the Rev. James Wodrow of Stevenston (1730-1845).
