SS Madeirense and the SS Finland

Sketch (top right) titled "The SS Finland in collision with the South Breakwater Dover. The damaged head - from the sea - she struck where the men are standing - forcing the whole head inwards some feet. See opening made which extends from back to front. The Finland was bound from New York to Antwerp with 720 persons aboard. Sketch from the boat Blanche - the day after collision. Dover Oct 29, 1907. Sketch at low water."
Sketch (lower centre) titled "SS Madeirense. Captain Kempthorne. 2830 tons. built at Rotterdam as the "Dubbeldam" in 1895. Steams 14 knots, burns 40 tons of coal a day, 60 hands."
