Pamela Nzabampema
Research Associate (History), School of Humanities, College of Arts

Prior to joining the University of Glasgow in January 2022 as a Research Associate, Pamela worked at the Quaker Council for European Affairs in Brussels. Her role involved trying to bring an anti-racist, de-colonial and inter-sectional approach to human rights policy and discourse (with a focus on migration policy).
Pamela holds a PhD degree in Peace Studies from the School of Law, Management and the Social Sciences, University of Bradford. Her doctoral research sought to examine the historical and contemporary developments of policing pluralism in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Pamela has also carried out research on the impact of amnesties on the reconciliation process in post-conflict Burundi.
Her research interest includes the resilience of customary institutions in African societies. She is currently writing an article on the Bashingantahe and local peacebuilding in Burundi.
