What is a Class Rep or PGR Rep?
Class Reps are there to represent undergraduate and postgraduate taught students, while PGR Reps represent students studying on postgraduate research courses.
Class and PGR Reps are essential to students, the University and the SRC. They are the frontline of representation at the University. They are the first point of contact for students with concerns or suggestions about their class as a whole and are the vehicle through which student views can be shared with the academic and support staff that run their department on issues like course content and delivery, teaching methods and resources.

How do I become a Class Rep or PGR Rep?
Your School are responsible for arranging elections which normally take place within the first three or four weeks of the academic year. The elections are relatively informal, and the vote may be held by a show of hands, via a Moodle quiz or even via SurveyMonkey.
You should be notified in advance that the elections are going to take place and if you’d like to stand for election, you should make this known to whoever in your School is organising the election.
If for any reason your School do not hold an election, you should contact the University’s Academic Policy & Governance Team at apg-administrative-assistant@glasgow.ac.uk. They will liaise with the School to ensure this is resolved.
You may be asked to provide a brief explanation as to why you’re the right person to be the Class or PGR Rep or give a short talk to your classmates as to what would make you the ideal candidate for the role.
If you are elected into the role you will then be in post as the Class or PGR Representative for the remainder of that academic year. After being elected the School should then be in touch to confirm how you can complete the SRC training to ensure you’re fully prepared for your role.
