This accessibility statement applies to the University of Glasgow’s Scholarships Application Portal.

Using this website

This website is run by the University of Glasgow. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:

  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts
  • zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen
  • navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
  • navigate most of the website using speech recognition software
  • listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)

How accessible this website is

We know some parts of this website aren’t fully accessible.

The function to revisit an application before final submission doesn’t meet accessible guidelines. For staff members, the pages that contain a list view are not fully accessible in the staff view.

Compliance status

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard, due to the non-compliances listed below.

Non-accessible content

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.

  • The application does not include a help function or documentation (customer and staff side) (WCAG 3.3.5)
  • The application list on the staff side is not screen reader compatible nor can it be successfully operated without a pointing device (WCAG 5.2.1). However, an alternate format can be provided.
  • There is no location breadcrumb (WCAG 2.4.8)

Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations

Known compatibility issues with WCAG 2.1 AA are the inability to use a screen reader on the list pages (WCAG 5.2.1). The alternative does not provide all the same features as the main one.

There are currently no plans to rectify these items.
