MyGlasgow Student Portal accessibility statement
This accessibility statement applies to the MyGlasgow Student Portal.
Using this website
This portal is run by The University of Glasgow. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this service. For example, that means you should be able to:
- change colours, contrast levels and fonts
- zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen
- navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
- navigate most of the website using speech recognition software
- listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)
We’ve also made the text as simple as possible to understand.
AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.
How accessible this website is
The portal should be fully accessible. It should be noted that very high levels of zoom may cause it to re-format into what would normally be a mobile-friendly format. This retains clarity of information but introduces more vertical scrolling.

How we tested the portal
This portal was tested on 25 November 2024. The test was carried out by the University’s Business Systems Team using Lighthouse, an automated tool which performs audits of web pages in several different areas including accessibility. Some manual inspections of the pages were also performed on recommendation from Lighthouse as automated tools cannot assess the full extent of a website’s accessibility.
