To celebrate Mother’s Day, The Hunterian is offering all Mums free admission to The Mackintosh House this Sunday (18 March). Children under the age of 18 also get in for free, so why not pay us a visit?

The Hunterian houses one of the most important collections of the work of Scottish architect, designer and artist, Charles Rennie Mackintosh (1868-1928) and his artist-wife, Margaret Macdonald Mackintosh (1864-1933).

The Mackintosh House is the internationally renowned reassembled Glasgow home of the Mackintoshes. The principal interiors have been meticulously reconstructed and furnished with their own furniture (all to Mackintosh’s design) and decorated as closely as possible to the original. The interiors highlight Mackintosh’s distinctive style, remarkable then, and now, for the disciplined austerity of the furnishings and decoration.

The Mackintosh House is located in the Hunterian Art Gallery on the University of Glasgow campus and is open from 11.00am - 4.00pm on Sundays. Free parking is available on campus on Sundays.

Usual admission price: £5.00 (£3.00 Concession)

The Hunterian also offers free admission to The Mackintosh House to children under the age of 18, Hunterian Friends, University of Glasgow staff and students and members of The Art Fund. Concession rates apply to Senior Citizens and the Unemployed.
