12 March marks the day that Donald Trump could lock in the number of delegates needed to secure the Republican Party nomination. And with almost no opposition, there is little doubt - at this stage - that Joe Biden will be the Democratic nominee.

With potentially one of the longest presidential campaigns in living memory, what can we expect as we look to a distant election day on 5 November?

Professor Carman will argue the campaign is likely to be nasty and brutish – but definitely not short.

This event is part of of the University of Glasgow's Stevenson Trust Lecture series.
