MARCH 2024
At the University of Glasgow our vision is to be The World-Changing University. Not just the best university in the world, but the best university for the world. A place where inquiring minds can develop their ideas and make discoveries that improve the lives of the communities we serve locally, nationally and internationally.
However, we realise that this vision cannot be achieved alone. Partnerships play a crucial role in driving societal change. Our extensive international network of partners enables us to connect and collaborate with those who share our ambitions and pioneering spirit.
I am delighted to announce the launch of our Partnerships for the World campaign, which celebrates those partnerships. These reciprocal and mutually beneficial relationships allow us to address some of the great challenges of our time and directly respond to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
We are thrilled to be able to share the first instalment of the campaign in this issue of the Connect newsletter, focusing on the Blantyre-Blantyre project and our partnership with the Kamuzu University of Health Sciences in Malawi.
Best wishes,
Rachel Sandison
Deputy Vice-Chancellor (External Engagement)

The Blantyre-Blantyre partnership
Blantyre-Blantyre is the story of a partnership between the Kamuzu University of Health Sciences (KUHeS), Malawi and the University of Glasgow. The team has successfully established a state-of-the-art research facility, funded by the Scottish Government's International Development Fund, on the KUHeS campus.
