2025 U21 Sustainable Policy Leadership School

The U21 School for Sustainable Policy Leadership, hosted by Lund University, invites postgraduate students from diverse academic disciplines to an enriching experience focused on sustainability, leadership, and global impact.
Building on existing programmes and modules delivered at U21 institutions, the U21 School for Sustainable Policy Leadership aims to provide postgraduate students from U21 member institutions with the skills and experience to develop and implement impactful sustainability policies, equipping them with critical skills in policy analysis, development, and implementation.
Participants will gain hands-on experience and practical insights into global sustainability challenges and solutions through keynote lectures, workshops, field visits, case study analysis and project collaboration. The programme aims to cultivate a network of future leaders committed to driving sustainable development and policy innovation.
Eligibility
Postgraduate students from all disciplines. Each institution can submit up to 2 nominations.
Application process
Please submit a statement of interest (2 sides of A4 maximum) indicating:
- How your research is relevant to the workshop themes and what contribution you can make to the workshop.
- What you hope to gain from the experience.
- How do you plan to disseminate your experience of the workshop, and to whom.
Your application will be scored on all three of the areas above. Statements should be sent to Externalrelations-u21network@glasgow.ac.uk no later than 7 March 2025. Up to 2 student nominations will be made to U21 by the 14 March
Travel and accommodation
The university will provide financial support up to £800 for travel and accommodation and the cost of the event will be covered by U21. The successful applicant will arrange their own travel via the university travel provider.
