The University of Queensland (UQ) is a member of the Group of Eight. It is a ‘sandstone university’ and ranks consistently in the top 100 of the world. UQ’s main campus has also been voted one of the most beautiful in the world. Founded in 1909, it is one of Australia’s oldest and most selective universities.
Brisbane is Australia’s third most populous city with a metropolitan area of 2.3 million inhabitants. It is one of the oldest cities in Australia and European settlements were built from 1825 onwards on the land of the Turrbal and Jagera peoples. Today the city is known for its distinct architecture as well as a tourist destination and a gateway to the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast.
