Amherst is a town in Hampshire County, Massachusetts, United States in the Connecticut River Valley. Amherst is a college town and the university borders the town green. Around the green you will find a few busy streets containing shops and restaurants. The town centres of Amherst and Northampton are separated by only a few miles, making the sights and amenities in one convenient to the other.
