The college student-led scholarships were awarded at the end of May this year. Thanks to the various School and College reviewers for their efforts. The reviewing process is long and rigorous, ensuring that we select great students and topics. Best wishes to these students!

Recipients of the Scottish Graduate School of Social Sciences (SGSSS) Student-Led Open Competition (funded by the ESRC) were also announced this week. Congratulations to these deserving recipients!

The college inaugural Sustainable Visions PGR poster exhibition opened on 9 May. This competition was open to all CoSS Postgraduate Research (PGR) students, who were asked to submit posters about their research and its contribution to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Three winners will each receive a £5,000 prize to develop their research.

By asking PGR students to demonstrate how their research supports the UN's SDGs, the University of Glasgow aims to highlight the real-world impact of their work. The prize money will help the creators of the top posters to further their research, develop their academic skills, and seize opportunities that might otherwise be unavailable to them. The winners will be announced in the atrium of the Adam Smith Business School on 30 May.

On 22 May, the SGSSS showcase event and supervisory board meeting were attended. The Collaboration and Impact Showcase is a key event in the SGSSS calendar, bringing together university and external partners who support their work, as well as SGSSS students. The Impact competition nominations can be viewed here.
