We would like to make you aware of an exciting upcoming opportunity - applications are now open for the Central China Normal University ‘Wuhan-Shangri-La Biodiversity’ Summer Study Tour 2025 , taking place between 10th July - 21st July 2025.

This programme aims to create a platform for international students to explore the mysteries of nature and appreciate the diversity of cultures. During the 12 day programme, participants will explore Wuhan, Hubei Province and Shangri La, Yunnan Province, to experience the unique natural ecology and humanities of central and southwestern China, deeply understand the importance of biodiversity to the global ecology, and stimulate their desire to explore natural science.

Participants will be able to take part in field trips, practical work and virtual simulation experiments, in order to cultivate observational, practical and teamworking skills, and provide cultural exchange.

Application Eligibility & Process 

In order to be eligible to apply, applicants must be aged between 18-45 years and proficient in English language. The summer school programme will be delivered in English, and therefore is open to those who have no previous experience of Chinese language. 

The deadline for completed applications is Wednesday 30th April 2025 at 5:00pm.

Programme Fees 

There are five funded scholarship places available for University of Glasgow students, which would cover the in-country costs of tuition, accommodation, meals and transport during the programme duration in China. However, applicants will be required to pay for and arrange their own:   

  • Visa application fees
  • International return flights
  • Travel insurance for full travel period

*It is very important that you do not book flights, arrange travel insurance or apply for your Visa until your summer school application result has been confirmed as successful.*
