We're Scottish University of the Year

In September, we were named Scottish University of the Year by the Times & Sunday Times Good University Guide 2024.

The guide provides a definitive ranking for UK universities and a comprehensive overview of higher education in Britain, including profiles on 134 universities.

Scotland's First Minister, Humza Yousaf, said: "I want to congratulate the University of Glasgow on being named the Times & Sunday Times Scottish University of the Year 2024 – a fantastic achievement which cements its reputation as a truly world-leading educational institution."

UofG Principal, Professor Sir Anton Muscatelli, said: "Our ranking of 12th in the UK matches our previous record performance in the Times’ 2022 rankings, and the second occasion we have been named Scottish University of the Year in three years. This result is tribute to the consistent excellence of our University community, and the hard work and endeavour displayed despite challenging circumstances over the past few years.”

Our new ranking of 12th in the UK is a rise of two places from last year.
