The coolest street in the UK

Great Western Road at Kelvin Bridge

A Glasgow street right next to the University’s Gilmorehill campus has been ranked the third coolest in the world, according to Time Out magazine.

The stretch of Great Western Road between the Botanic Gardens and St George’s Cross was ranked third, behind Montreal’s Rue Wellington and Gertrude Street in Melbourne, based on food, fun, culture and community. Described as being “abuzz morning through night with all from latte-sipping mums and dads to students and full-on hipsters,” we’re sure the stretch of road will be well known to many of our alumni.
