A rise in reputation

The University has achieved its highest-ever ranking in the Times Higher Education (THE) World Reputation Rankings 2025: 101–150.

The THE World Reputation Rankings are the definitive list of the world's most prestigious universities, as chosen by senior published academics around the globe. Universities are ranked on the quality of their research and teaching.

In the 2025 Times Higher Education World University Rankings, released in October 2024, the University of Glasgow maintained its position of 87th in the world.

THE Subject Rankings success 

The University ranks in the world top 100 in eight out of 11 subject areas in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings by Subject 2025.

In this year's results, the University has two subjects ranked in the world top 50, with Law placed 44 and Medical and Health placed 50.
