Cells under the microscope and make edible cells, University of Glasgow
Have you ever wondered what a cell is, how it might work or what it looks like?
In the video below, Dr Tansy Hammarton, a parasite cell biologist from the University of Glasgow gives an introduction to cells and their component parts, and then shows you how to make your own edible cell models.
Discover the huge diversity of size and shape amongst cells, learn about the different types of microscopy scientists use to view cells, and see the beauty of a variety of human and microbial cells (including a few of Dr Hammarton’s favourite parasites!) up close, before having a go at making your own.
Download your activity sheet below and you can skip to the Edible Cells activity at 18:00 mins along in the video.
