Published: 31 May 2024

Virtual walk through the engineering of the River Kelvin, Institution of Civil Engineers

Explore the engineering of Glasgow's River Kelvin Bridges with the Institution of Civil Engineers. They’ll take you on a virtual walk through history, finding out how and why the bridges were built as they are and why the West End of Glasgow looks the way it does.

Either listen to the Guidigo trail or read the leaflet:

Digital Guidigo Trail: Follow a digital trail with audio guides.

Leaflet: Paper leaflet of the trail.

This tour will also be taking place as a guided in person tour during Glasgow Science Festival 2024 on two dates:

Saturday 8th June

Sunday 16th June

If you want to find out more about civil engineering or infrastructure, there’s loads more info on the Institution of Civil Engineers website.
