The University of Glasgow is home to a broad and rich range of Hispanic collections: from artwork and coins in the Hunterian, to Golden Age Spanish plays and first editions of Cervantes’ Don Quixote in Archives & Special Collections. These collections have now been strengthened further with the bequest of 350 Spanish early printed books from the library of Professor Don Cruickshank (1942-2021), a world-leading expert on Calderón.

Organised by the College of Arts & Humanities’ Collections Lab, this symposium will offer short talks by researchers and collection experts on a range of the Hispanic collections across the University. Attendees will also have the opportunity to view some of the treasures from the newly-catalogued Cruickshank Collection.
