Hosted by colleagues from the Community Development team at the University of Glasgow Making a Very Community Christmas offers a space for participants to collectively explore what we each understand by ‘celebration’ around Christmas time.

The session will invite participants to share what they understand as their ‘cultural’ traditions and how their respective family celebrations align or diverge from these - asking what makes their traditions ‘special’; and what they think others could enjoy from them.

Through creative methods (involving opportunities for art, role play, and dialogue), participants will utilise an abundance of investigatory methods to explore how and who they see as their families, placing them in the context of their community(ies). This enables a communal investigation into how we can develop our community connections at a time of great joy for many, but also social or cultural isolation for others.
