To celebrate the Glasgow Doors Open Day Festival, The Hunterian is offering FREE entry to the Mackintosh House!

Come along on Saturday 21 September between 10am and 5pm* and see the main interiors from the Glasgow home of artists Charles Rennie Mackintosh and Margaret Macdonald Mackintosh.

The Mackintosh House is an integral part of the Hunterian Art Gallery at the University of Glasgow. The rooms strikingly illustrate Mackintosh’s concept of the room as a work of art as well as allowing the visitor to experience the environment in which the Mackintoshes lived and worked.

The Mackintosh House Introduction Gallery tells the fascinating story of the artists, their house and the Mackintosh collection.

No booking required. Entry is on a first-come, first-served basis. For conservation reasons, only 12 visitors are allowed in the House at one time. *Last entry 4.15pm.

Because of the nature of the Mackintosh House, access for wheelchair users, or people with mobility impairments, is currently limited to the Mackintosh House Introduction Gallery, orientation room, hall and dining room.  The Mackintosh House is over four levels with 62 steps. The floors can only be accessed by stairs.
