SYMBIOSIS: Healthcare Biosensing and Bioimaging Exchange
SYMBIOSIS is a one-day knowledge exchange event focused on biosensing and bioimaging for healthcare applications. The goal is to open a dialogue between industry, academia, and clinicians in the biosensing and bioimaging space, to identify opportunities for cross-sector collaboration. This will comprise a series of short talks from participants, where they can choose to discuss stories of research, product development, or key challenges and open questions within the field. Facilitated round table-discussions will be held on key themes, and a networking and exhibition session will provide participants with a platform to showcase products and research.

Knowledge exchange for academic, industrial and clinical stakeholders in healthcare-focused biosensing and bioimaging research
Join us for an exciting knowledge exchange event focused on the future of healthcare-focused biosensing and bioimaging in Scotland! SYMBIOSIS is a unique opportunity for professionals, clinicians and researchers from industry, academia and the public sector to learn about new technologies and opportunities for cross-sector collaboration.
Date: Wednesday, 29th November 2023
Time: 09:30 AM (GMT)
Location: Advanced Research Centre (ARC), 11 Chapel Lane, Glasgow, G11 6EW
SYMBIOSIS is centred around two key themes:
- The potential impact of emergent technologies on the healthcare sector, and the unsolved technical challenges which impede progress.
- The barriers to translation of research to impact, and the role cross-sector collaboration can play in overcoming them.
Register and attend to learn about progress within core technological domains of biosensing and bioimaging including: point-of-care (POC) devices, artificial intelligence (AI), remote sensing, and personalised medicine. Participants are invited to discuss the current state and future of biosensing and bioimaging technology at round table discussions on our key themes above.
Collaboration is at the heart of translating research to impact. Our goal is to open a dialogue between industry, academia, and frontline clinicians in the biosensing and bioimaging space, and to identify opportunities for cross-sector collaboration.
At SYMBIOSIS, you will have the chance to engage in discussions on key challenges and open questions within the field, learn about novel research, and network with like-minded peers. Representatives of CENSIS (Scotland's Innovation Centre for Sensing, Imaging and Internet of Things) and the University of Glasgow Impact Acceleration Account team will present on resources available to enable effective partnerships.
Mark your calendars and join us at SYMBIOSIS!
