Marcos Colón (Beyond Fordlândia: an Environmental Account of Henry Ford’s Adventures in the Amazon, Brazil, 2017) discusses the profound change in the Amazonian economy, landscape and its people after Henry Ford’s arrival (1927). Based on his journeys into the Amazon and his method of ‘slow seeing’ Marcos Colón fosters a methodology for action, which, on relearning how to see the Amazon, slowly promotes a new encounter between Nature & Culture, with new epistemic and ethical bases.
