The Art of the Burns Supper
This event marked the end of a two year project, researching the history of Burns Suppers and mapping these events in the 21st Century. It also included the unveiling of a specially commissioned piece of artwork by David Mach, which so many of our alumni community helped to create by submitting images of their own Burns events in 2021.
The artwork was unveiled as the centrepiece of a Virtual Reality exhibition, created as part of the `Burns Beyond Reality` collaboration between the Centre for Robert Burns Studies and immersive learning platform Edify. Attendees experienced the story and legacy of the Burns Supper as never seen before, including a trip to Alloway Kirk as Rabbie imagined it in `Tam o' Shanter`.

The Centre for Robert Burns Studies at the University of Glasgow and Edify have had a long-term collaboration creating Burns Beyond Reality with the assistance of Dr Pauline Mackay.
Edify were also critical in helping to deliver the Arts of the Burns Supper, and are offering Edify BETA for 90-days to experience Burns Beyond Reality for yourself.
They have also created a blog post covering the event, and how they supported the unveiling of David Mach's The Flying Haggis.
