Summary:  The regeneration of Granton is an ambitious project following a Master Plan adopted in place in 2001. The area is of significant scale at approximately 120 hectares. While it is currently a rundown and derelict quarter in Scotland’s capital city, the location has considerable potential. A series of terraces look across the estuary and harbour towards Fife, the North Sea and the Forth Bridges. This tour centres on the vision set out in the Master plan and on the progress made to date. Waterfront Edinburgh are tasked with the development of approximately one third of the land area in Granton. Their aim is to create a place which involves and benefits the existing communities and also attracts investment in a full range of employment uses, housing, leisure, cultural and community development.
