Short Description
To familiarise the student with the management methods and techniques most commonly used to plan, organise and control projects.
Timetable
10 weeks duration. Each week consists of between 8-10 activities. All learning is on-line and will be delivered using a combination of videoed lectures, interviews, activities, case studies and recommended reading

Assessment
Individual Assignment. Students will be given a case study and be asked to complete a project plan. They are given a project plan template to undertake this assessment. This exercise mirrors a skill they will need in the workplace when they are given a project to manage. This document required models and tables and as such there is no suggested word count.
Course Aims
To familiarise the student with the management methods and techniques most commonly used to plan, organise and control projects.
Intended Learning Outcomes of Course
By the end of this course students will be able to:
1. Identify the stages of the project lifecycle and evaluate the value of the tools and techniques that are used in each stage
2. Develop and evaluate project plans on the basis of timing, cost and risk
3. Critically evaluate the project management process as it is applied within the workplace
Minimum Requirement for Award of Credits
Students must pass the written assignment. Please note some students will not want to pass the assignment and a certificate of participation may be awarded.
