Short Description

This course offers students the opportunity to build on their existing knowledge base of paediatric neurology, neurodisability and sensory problems. Students will have the opportunity to learn from paediatric specialists who will suggest a focused and practical approach to commonly encountered paediatric problems.

Course Aims

This course aims to provide participants with an evidence based approach to the paediatric patient with neurodevelopmental problems.

Intended Learning Outcomes of Course

By the end of this course, students will be able to: 

■ Identify, conceptualise and appraise normal development during childhood, the impact of disordered development and its investigation.

■ Deal with complex issues and make informed judgements in the management of paediatric patients with acute or chronic neurological presentations.

Minimum Requirement for Award of Credits

Students must submit at least 75% by weight of the components (including examinations) of the course's summative assessment.
