Short Description
The course will develop digital transformation leadership skills for senior staff and the leaders of third sector organisations enabling them to develop digital transformation strategies for their organisation to better meet their short- and long-term objectives. Participants will develop an understanding of the opportunities that digital transformation can offer their organisation by providing the fundamentals of how relevant and appropriate technology platforms operate.
This course will be taught online only.
Timetable
This will take place over 10 weeks with recorded content of approximately 1 hour per week plus additional learning resources such as reading material, podcasts and videos.
In addition, an online live question and answer session will be provided to allow participants to work together on exercises and share experiences. This will last 2 hours and will be scheduled after a student poll to determine the most appropriate time. Participants will be given exercises for each unit to guide their independent study and build towards the assessments.

Assessment
A framework for a digital transformation project that sets out a strategy and a plan for delivering transformational business and operational change. The strategy should articulate its economic, social and environmental benefits, and detail an associated action plan. The word count limit for this assignment will be 2,000. (100%; ILOs 1, 2 & 3).
Course Aims
The aims of the course are:
1. To introduce students to key concepts relevant to digital technologies and their application in the context of business and organisational transformation in the third sector.
2. To equip students with techniques for researching the digital technology business environment and undertaking critical contextual analysis of potential transformational opportunities and challenges.
3. To support participants in the preparation of a practical digital transformation plan.
4. To provide the opportunity for networking and peer-to-peer learning.
Intended Learning Outcomes of Course
By the end of this course students will be able to:
1. Explain different concepts and technology models relevant to digital transformation in the third sector.
2. Identify and research the specific opportunities and challenges associated with digital transformation in the third sector.
3. Develop and write their own digital transformation strategy and plan.
Minimum Requirement for Award of Credits
Students must submit at least 75% by weight of the components (including examinations) of the course's summative assessment.
