Short Description
In this course, you will learn about the ecology of carbon and biodiversity markets, to examine the effectiveness of habitat creation and restoration methods with regards to climate and biodiversity loss mitigation and develop skills in monitoring and assessing biodiversity and habitats.

Course Aims
This course will provide students with a broad overview of topics related to habitat creation, restoration and monitoring. This will include practical habitat assessment and identification skills in addition to transferable writing and communication skills relevant to a wide range of future roles in conservation and related industries.
Intended Learning Outcomes of Course
By the end of this course students will be able to:
1. Critically appraise the likelihood of species' presence in a given area based on habitat features.
2. Critically discuss topics related to habitat creation and monitoring.
3. Apply a range of communication skills in engaging with different audiences.
Minimum Requirement for Award of Credits
Students must submit at least 75% by weight of the components (including examinations) of the course's summative assessment.
