Commemoration Day 2024
Commemoration Day is an important milestone in the University of Glasgow calendar and serves as a celebration of our foundation. Held in the University Chapel, the day also recognises and thanks our historic and current benefactors. The Principal honours the occasion by reading the Roll of Benefactors, a document that dates back to the 17th century.
Following the service, the Chancellor of the University confers Honorary Degrees upon the year’s graduands. Among this year’s honorary graduates was alumnus, Brian McBride.
In this short film he shares what his University of Glasgow experience meant to him and the importance of supporting the generations to come.
