The College Employability Programme offers a suite of individual certificated skills courses that can be embedded into credit-bearing courses to support students’ development of key transferable skills relevant to their specific course and their future careers. The courses are delivered online and can be timed to run alongside your teaching timetable. Each course is supported by a team of trained skills programme tutors who provide Moodle forum feedback, moderate quizzes and even 1-1 formative feedback on the students’ submitted work. Completion tracking requires students to complete each element of the course and digital badges, certificates and HEAR recognition is provided at the end.
To support your students we can provide a live session to introduce each course and explain the course requirements , create a section in the course/programme Moodle page to host content about our support and any specific requirements relevant to your students, and provide a schedule of Moodle communications to introduce the course and to encourage students through to completion.
Where skills are being assessed, we also have marking rubrics for most of our courses which can help the skills assessment process.
Our current courses are:
- Practical Presentation Skills
- Groupwork to teamwork
- Making your dissertation work for you
- Writing a Policy Brief
- Graduate Skills Programme (supporting students to reflect and articulate their learnng and experiences)
