Doing a collaborative dissertation with Alex Neil MSP was a great way of taking the academics of my degree and applying it to politics where it happens. His office gave me speedy insight and direction when I needed it, and in interviewing MSPs across different parties I got a behind-the-scenes look at how political offices think, communicate, and work.
