Doing a collaborative dissertation was a fantastic experience, it was great to have the support from university as well as from police Scotland. It gave me access to a group of people who I wouldn’t have been able to talk to otherwise. It was also really good to have a piece of work that will actually be used.

The engagement with Glasgow University in a collaborative dissertation allowed Police Scotland’s Positive Lifestyles Project to effectively consider how we might go about evaluating our activity with young people involved in the criminal justice system.  This met our expectations.  The communications with both Glasgow University and the Masters Student were straightforward and allowed us to effectively work in partnership to good effect.  Any practical issues were dealt with efficiently and we were able to complete the research on time and to a high standard.  I would recommend a collaborative dissertation with Glasgow University.
