Mahara for ePortfolios

What is Mahara?

Mahara is an open-source ePortfolio system designed to help users create and manage digital portfolios. It allows individuals to collect, reflect upon, and showcase their achievements, skills, and learning experiences through various digital artifacts such as documents, images, videos, social media and more.

Key Features of Mahara:

    • File Repository: Organise and store digital content.
    • Planning Tool: Schedule and keep track of projects.

    • Pages and Collections: Build and share individual pages or collections of pages using a variety of media blocks including video, hyperlinks, external media, social media, text and images.
    • Personal Learning Stories: Users can upload evidence of their activities, embed publicly accessible content, and write reflections to frame this evidence.
    • Journal: Record experiences for private reflection or public sharing.

  3. Collaboration and Sharing:

    • Groups: Create portfolios collaboratively and engage in forum discussions.
    • Flexible Sharing: Share portfolios with specific individuals, groups, or publicly, and control access with specific date settings.
